About us

We operate two types of souvenir coin machines.

One is the traditional coin press, which has been popular worldwide since the 1892 Chicago World’s Fair. This classic device has also evolved over time: previously, everyone could press the design of their choice onto their own 5-forint coin, but nowadays the 5-forint coins are preloaded in the machine. Users simply select one of the four available designs, pay, and the coin can be pressed. The pressing mechanism itself remains the same as it was over 100 years ago. Modern machines also support bank card payments. A pressed souvenir coin currently costs 400–450 HUF. The pressing process has not changed: after paying for the selected coin, the design is pressed onto the 5-forint coin by turning the hand crank.

The other type of machine operates like a classic vending machine. After payment—which can also be made by card—the customer receives the purchased coin or medal within seconds. These ready-made coins or medals can feature much richer, more detailed designs linked to the location. The price of these pre-made, round coins or medals ranges from approximately 1200 to 1270 HUF.
